Pneumatic spring applied caliper brake PPT-N 070

After a long and meticulous design and testing phase, MWM is pleased to announce the production of its biggest and powerful spring applied pneumatic caliper brake, the PPT-N070.

Thanks to its double piston thruster and the square wire reinforced springs, the PPT-N070 is capable of very high braking torques (up to 50.000 Nm with disk Ø1525mm) keeping the reduced overall dimensions typical of the brakes made in MWM (thruster diameter is only 26 cm!)

Despite of the remarkable force produced by the springs and necessary to guarantee those torques, the air release pressure remains untouched to only 6 bar. Besides ensuring those performance, the caliper brake PPT-N070 keeps untouched all the benefits related to MWM patented self-aligning system with orthogonal sliding which allows a revolutionary orthogonal movement freedom. Thanks to this system, it is possible to have caliper brakes with a perfect self-alignment to the disk or rail and a faster and easier installation.
