MWM was born in Milan in 1965 by the idea of Dott. Carlo Witzel and his son Dott. Alberto Witzel.
1975
Mr. Sergio Sartori joins MWM; his philosophy is to create unique and more efficient products. In the first years he launches the Oleodynamic Clutches and the Electromagnetic Monodisc Clutches.
1977
A controlled workshop is created for the production of the components, in this way MWM takes the full control of the whole manufacturing pipeline, from the design, to the production till the assembly of the final products.
1978
The Disc-type Electromagnetic Clutches are launched and some years later the Toothed Electromagnetic Clutches.
1986
After the premature disappearance of the founders, Mr. Sartori becomes partner and CEO of MWM with the objective to make it grow. The three partners of the company are, therefore, the families Witzel, de Haag and Sartori.
1987
MWM launches the Pneumatic Toothed Clutches, first in the italian market, having huge success.
1988
The company grows and the location becomes bigger with the enlaregment of the workshop and the warehouse.
1996
The location gets even bigger with the move of the offices and a further enlargement of the workshop and the warehouse.
2010
The innovative Caliper Brakes get launched, all patented, with a revolutionary and unique hooking system.
2015
MWM launches the Four Pole Electromagnetic Clutches, double the force in half of the space, unique manufactures in Italy.
2016
Ing. Walter Sartori joins MWM, as General Manager, next to Mr. Sergio Sartori. A very important step for the growth of the company.
2020
Dott. Patrizia de Haag joins the company to develop the company in Italy and abroad and to drive the market strategies.
2022
MWM moves from its historical location in Milano city centre to the industrial area of Lainate (MI). The move has become necessary to align the logistic and production to the continous growth the company is experiencing.
